For your enjoyment

As with all of our previous parties you will be immersed in a world of art, poetry, dance, music, and wonder. Strolling entertainers, burlesque beauties, musicians, artists of all kinds perform for your pleasure. More important you are part of the entertainment, dressed to excess, lending your unique art, knowledge, and wit to the event. We are excited to have several of the finest DJs in the City, DJ Smoove and DJ Delechaux performing for you. Paul hosts the Midnight Kabaret with The Indra, The Nekyia, Doctor Popular, and Mr Lucky and Tuesday Blue. There is so much more happening that we can't describe it all... You'll just have to come see for yourself.

The Art

Enjoy images from the Belle Epoche and the impressionist movement. Reproductions of some of the most influential pieces from that time and place will be on display in the gallery.

Then Create your own work of art. Two lovely models will be sitting for artists in the gallery. Grab some of our charcoal, or bring your own paint, watercolors, or crayons. Then create your own masterpiece. The best pieces (as judged by the models) will be displayed on Paul's refrigerator for the next month. Winning artists will recieve free drinks and free passes to future events.

Simply put, The Indra is an institution. Fans the world over go bananas for the ribald humor of her own cleverly written and directed fusion of comedy, cabaret, and costumery. She's an old friend of the creators of Louche and the perfect fit for May 2nd.

Are you feeling lucky, Punk? Well lucky you are to be surrounded by beautiful people in a delicous place with Mr. Lucky singing you sweet and low.

The Nekyia -

The Nekyia is a 21st century Showgrrrl—a curvaceous and voracious devotee of the stage. Belly dance, samba, cabaret, burlesque, fire eating, and contortion intertwine within her lissome body in an undulating celebration of unrepentant carnality.


 

The Dancehall

Throughout the evening there will be an ecclectic mix of cabaret, burlesque, dance and theater shows.

 

 

DJ Smove. Smoove is one of SF's finest Dance DJs and an absinthe lover. We are excited to have him and proud to present him at Louche.

 

The sonic maestro behind Fete La Boum, the Edwardian Ball, and now Louche, DJ Delachaux will be bringing his own unique bag of electro-vintage splendor.

Paul Nathan hosts a short talk on the history of absinth. The focus this time will be on what happened to make absinthe legal.
